Thank you for being our guest at crbible.com. I was in the same position as you over 20 years ago, and then became a new member at CrossRoads and have since seen God do great things! It started when my wife, Cathy, and all of our children trusted Jesus Christ as Savior and were baptized in this ministry. Soon thereafter, we all surrendered for full-time Christian service.
I graduated as valedictorian from seminary at Tennessee Temple University, earning a Masters degree in Ministry and Masters in Religious Education. In addition, I taught and was Assistant Administrator in our Christian School, Sunday School Superintendent, L.I.F.E Group Teacher, and AWANA Commander for our church. In 2005, the Lord opened the door for me to join our church staff as Christian Education Pastor. As you can see, God has brought us a long way, and I pray that you also would similarly experience awesome things that God can do in one's life.
I didn't really want to go. I didn't see the point. But my wife, Cathy, talked me into it, and I'm glad she did. At CrossRoads, we believe that our small group ministry is the lifeblood of our church. It is the means by which true fellowship and ministry take place. As an individual who trusted Christ in a Sunday School setting, and now as Christian Education Pastor, I am committed and responsible for the overall direction of this ministry. We realize that having numerous small groups for you to choose from is not only healthy for the church as a whole, but essential for you, individually, as you connect with a L.I.F.E. Group and receive the life-changing benefits of Learning practical truths from God's Word in an informal setting, Involvement as you interact and serve with other Christians, establish godly Friendships, and receive Encouragement in your daily walk with God.
We are excited about having a Bible Institute in our church. The term Bible Institute is used to refer to a school of higher adult education, which provides college-level work and training for those who feel called of God to serve Him in a full-time capacity. It also provides Bible knowledge and training to those who would like to become better lay workers in the church, that they may be better prepared to do the work of the ministry. (Ephesians 4:12) We desire to see believers rooted and built up in Christ, and established in the faith (Colossians 2:7). We believe in the absolute sufficiency of Christ and His Word, and we believe that God's Word should be studied and learned so that the believers can be thoroughly furnished unto all good works (2 Timothy 3:16-17). The Bible Institute is tuition free, operating solely on a love offering basis. Some of the courses that we are offering include: Basic Bible Doctrines, Defending Your Faith, Biblical Counseling, Rightly Dividing the Word, Creation vs. Evolution, and numerous books of the Bible! You can even earn a Graduate of Theology diploma if you take the classes for credit.
As Administrator, some of the my duties include overseeing the business administration of CrossRoads which includes budgeting/financial planning, collection and processing, requisition approval, payroll, inventory/asset control, and much more. Cathy and I take seriously this privilege and awesome responsibility ministering to the adults at CrossRoads.
