I began attending CrossRoads as a teenager and joined the church as a young adult in my early 20s. Not long after being married at CrossRoads, my wife Coleen and I began serving in various areas. Ultimately, we discovered a love and passion for working with teenagers in the church.
At that time, I had graduated from UCF with a Bachelor's Degree in Business with a computer focus. I worked my way up in a local resort company and held the title of Director of I.T. As a result of feeling led to work full time in Christian service, I resigned from this position so I would have more time to volunteer at the church and work with the youth.
This opened up an opportunity to work full time in property maintenance and youth. Because of my degree in computers, I also managed all of the computers and phone systems for the church. I served as the Assistant Youth Director until my ordination in 2008; at which point I assumed the title of Youth Pastor. At the time, I was overseeing all of the maintenance and custodial staff, construction projects, I.T., and the new audio and video ministry.
In 2015, my love for hospitality led me to organize and launch a First Impressions Ministry for our first-time guests. I oversaw this ministry for two years and then handed it over to a lay volunteer. Most recently, I led the construction of our Gymnasium, parking lot expansion, sanctuary remodel, sound and lighting upgrade, and new building addition, which includes a coffee shop and indoor playground.
During my time as the Youth Pastor, I implemented a spring break camp and continued the summer camp, but I felt that we needed to revamp how we structured our time at summer camp. I organized a camp that is led and run by our church and opened registration to any teenager that wanted to participate. Our camp attendance grew, and we saw our youth group unite in ways that it never had before. I also started annual, international youth missions trips during the summer, which I organized and led.
As of 2020, I have been faithfully serving on staff with my family for the last 15 years and have recently accepted the position of Executive Pastor.
